MARRIAGE VISITOR VISA

An individual aged over 18 years is allowed to visit the UK to get married or for a civil partnership. For this purpose a visa will be granted to the applicant for the period of six months or less. The applicant must meet the basic requirements.

If one of the partners is settled in the UK and the second partner living outside the UK is willing to join him or her, they must full fill the legalities set by the UKVI. Some of the legal terminologies are stated as: They both have to show the registered document of their civil partnership. They will have to live together and support themselves without asking for Government funds and support. One needs (Coming from outside to the UK) to pass an examination which shows sufficient knowledge of the English language.

They must be married before the visa expires as well as the applicant has to show that he or she has enough money to support himself/herself or he/she will be accommodated by relatives or friends and they have the arrangements to return to their home country or to travel afterwards without taking any Government funds or support. The visitor under this category cannot participate in any kind of business related activities.

If the applicants are from other immigration categories and want to register as a civil partner he or she may be allowed to switch to marriage or civil partnership category subject to certain rules and regulations.

PARENT OF A TIER 4 CHILD VISA

A Parent of a Tier 4 Child visa is for a parent whose child attends an independent fee-paying day school in the UK. This visa usually lasts for either 6 or 12 months. After that, you can get extensions for 12 months at a time until your child reaches 12 years of age. A parent of a Tier 4 child visa costs £405.

You’ll be given a shorter visa and won’t be able to extend that visa if your child is going to:

1) Have their 12th birthday in the next 12 months

2) Finish their final year at school in the next 12 months

You must leave the UK when your visa expires in either case, and can’t switch to a different visa category. If your child is staying in education in the UK without you, you must make arrangements for their ongoing care.

PERMITTED PAID ENGAGEMENT VISA

You can apply for a Permitted Paid Engagement Visa if your been invited to the UK as an expert in your profession. You must be invited by a UK-based organization or client, or wish to come to the UK to do specific paid work without having to be sponsored under the points-based visa system. For this type of visa you must be from a country thats not in the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland. This visa is for a maximum 1 month stay, and you may not need to apply for this type of visa if you are from a certain country. A Permitted Paid Engagement Visa costs £87.

STANDARD VISITOR VISA

Family visitor visa

You can apply for a Family Visitor Visa if you are over 18, visiting a family member in the UK and you are from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland. The applicants must have enough funds to support themselves without working of help from public funds, or have relatives and friends who can support and house them. Applications must pay for return and onward journeys and are not in transit to a country outside the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. You cannot apply if you qualify for British Citizenship, including if you have dual nationality. You must apply for British Citizenship instead.

General Visitor Visa

UK visit visa category allows anyone aged over 18 years to come to the UK for a short period of time that is up to 6 months, and not more than 12 months if accompanied by an academic visitor. The visitors can come to enjoy an event, to meet family or for any other purpose except work.

The applicants must have enough funds to overcome their needs like accommodation, transportation, health, etc, during their stay in the UK as well as for the arrangements to return to their home country. The visitors are restricted to carry out any sort of work including employment or self-employment. They are not entitled to any sort of benefits from government funds or medical treatments on NHS.

The applicants would need to prove that they have strong economic and social ties in their home country to establish their intentions and genuineness of the purpose of UK visit visa.

The applicants are required to lodge their applications at the UK mission in their home country. UK visit visa is non switchable and, therefore, cannot be switched to any other immigration categories.

Child Visitor Visa

A child under 18 years of age can apply for Child Visitor Visa under this category for up to 6 months but in the case of accompanying an academic visitor, child visitor’s stay can be extended up to one year. But he or she will have to full fill the basic requirements before applying for the UK Child Visit Visa.

The child visitor will have to show enough money to support his or her basic needs while in the UK and to cover up the arrangements to return to his or her country of origin without consulting the Government funds or sponsored by any of his or her relatives or friends. All arrangements must meet the UKVI’s rules and regulation.

Without the company of any adult, the applicant must provide the evidence that an accommodation has been arranged for the child while his or her stay in the UK along with a letter having contact details from the parents or guardians.

Business Visitor Visa, including Visas for academics, doctors and dentists

This visa category enables the business and special visitors to come to the UK to do business or some special activities for a short interval of time which may be up to six months. The business visitors and special visitors will have to obey the basic rules and regulations set by the UKVI that they cannot present themselves for a job placement or any type of internship activities or study. They must have enough money to support and accommodate themselves as well as for onward journey or return to their country without consulting the Government funds and support. But the Entertainer visitors will not be paid other than cash prizes or for board and lodging expenses by only taking part in particular events, including charity events.

 

Entertainer visitors

Normally Entertainer visitor is granted visa for up to six months but in case of frequent visits by the visitor then he/she will be granted visa for a longer period depending on the application.

A person who wants to come to the UK for private medical treatment is allowed to stay for a limited time that may be usually up to six months. The applicant must meet all the requirements set by the UKVI. He must not be suffering from such disease that will be harmful for general public and the treatment period must be no more than the validity of his visa. VISIT THE UK IN A CHINESE TOUR

If you are a Chinese Citizen you can come to the UK for up to 30 days as part of a tour group through the approved destination status agreement (ADS) . To qualify you must enter the country as part of your tour group (Minimum 5 people) and stay with the group for the whole duration of your visit. STUDENT VISAS

Tier 4 (General) – Adult Students

UK education system is recognised as one of the most vibrant education system all over the world which builds solid foundations for student’s future, and helps them boost their career opportunities. The UK is home to world class universities and colleges, having a strong international reputation for providing exceptional quality education and research. Students are asked to apply for study visa under Tier 4 (General) category. There are a wide range of courses offered at college and university levels. Tier 4 (General) category allows overseas students to come to the UK for study purposes at various educational levels under point based system. The minimum course duration should be more than 6 months.

Students wishing to study in the UK will have to meet the basic requirements set by the UKVI. The applicants are required to show the evidence of enrolment at an approved UK educational institution. Evidence of sufficient maintenance (funds) for accommodation and to meet all other needs arising from cost of living in the UK are also required. This visa is usually granted for the duration of the course e.g. if the students are studying at degree level or above they can stay for the full duration of their course but if the course is longer than four years, they will have to apply for visa extension. Students are not allowed to engage in full time employment, however, they are permitted to engage in part time employment or they may take up permitted vacation work if they are enrolled in an institution which is a Higher Educational Institution or a University.

Students who are allowed to stay in the UK under this category can apply for extension and can remain in the UK till the end of their course. If the application for extension is refused, he or she might have the chance to appeal against the refusal notice to the Secretary of State.
